Eco-friendly Adhesive Reduces E-Waste… VisCure Wins Top Prize in the 7th Transportation & Environment Challenge

The Korea Green Foundation and DB Insurance announced the successful conclusion of the 7th Transportation & Environment Challenge Demo Day, a startup support program for transportation and environment sectors, at the Orchid Hall of the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas in Samseong-dong, Seoul on the 17th. Since its launch in 2019, the program has fostered innovative technologies for transportation safety and environmental protection, contributing to solving sustainable social issues.
This year's Demo Day featured participating companies presenting their technologies and business achievements through IR pitching, operating exhibition booths, and networking with investors and industry professionals. This year, previous graduates also participated, sharing their experiences of trial and error and growth in the early stages and broadening the network among startups.
A total of six companies participated in the 7th round: Roboroad and Roen Korea in the transportation sector, and VisCure, AP Green, Invelab, and Paperpop in the environmental sector. Each received KRW 30 million in business support and tailored programs tailored to each startup stage, including accelerating training, environmental education, ESG report writing support, and marketing mentoring, to foster tangible growth.
The IR pitching session showcased various technologies targeting the future of transportation and the environment. Roboroad presented AI-based road damage analysis technology and an unmanned repair robot, proposing a solution to improve the efficiency of aging road management. Roen Korea unveiled a child traffic accident prevention solution that combines AI analysis and accident prevention systems with IoT devices. VisCure introduced eco-friendly adhesive technology to reduce e-waste, and AP Green showcased a hydrogen-based, self-sufficient distributed power system. Invelab presented AI- and drone-based ecological restoration technology, while Paperpop presented a sustainable daily life strategy with its eco-friendly paper furniture sharing model.
This year's Best Company was VisCure, which showcased its eco-friendly adhesive technology. VisCure received high praise for developing a transparent adhesive for displays using visible light curing technology, reducing electronic waste generated during the manufacturing process while simultaneously increasing production efficiency. All participating companies, including Loen Korea, received an additional 12 million won in grants.
VisCure CEO Lee Seok-ju stated, "I gained a lot of inspiration through interaction and mentoring with the CEOs of the participating companies. The Transportation and Environment Challenge served as a crucial stepping stone for our company's further growth."
The Korea Environmental Foundation emphasized the social significance of technological innovation in the face of the climate crisis and expressed its commitment to continuously expanding the program. A representative stated, "The key to addressing the climate crisis lies in innovative technologies and the efforts to apply them to society. We will continue to discover and support startups that can address transportation and environmental issues, broadening the scope for technological dissemination."
